Most of the information on these pages has been derived from numerous sources, most of it has been double checked against other publications etc, but as with any historic information mistakes can sometimes creep in.

All images on this site remain the copyright of the respective owners. Due to the nature of old photographs and books etc. some are not of very good quality but have been included for their historical interest.
I have also had to balance the image quality with the size of files for viewing in web browsers.
All photo's are 'jpg' files and because of this I recommend at least 16bit colour monitor resolution, as any lower than this the images appear 'grainy'.
